Like many of you, I grew up in patriarchal religion. The result was an extraordinarily difficult transition into adulthood from which I have only recently emerged, and certainly not unscathed.

One reason I am so obsessed with Nuama and its women is because they get to live a reality most of us only dream of. One where they are always safe, always respected, and where they come first. Literally. And often.

But it’s not just about sex—we live in a world where women (especially mothers/WOC) are often last to be recognized and celebrated. Nuama challenges that reality—not just in the bedchamber, but everywhere.

Writing these stories has both softened and radicalized me—I hope they do the same for you. I remain absolutely privileged and humbled to be the teller of these tales.
